After a brief hiatus, Editions / Artists' Books
`01 is back by popular demand, bigger and better than ever. Entering
its fourth year, the fair is unparalleled as a showcase for contemporary
publishers and book dealers exhibiting the latest in prints, multiples
and artists' books. Museum curators and collectors continue to praise
the fair as a pivotal event within the publishing and contemporary art
community.
Organized by Susan Inglett of I.C. Editions, Michele
Quinn of Brooke Alexander Editions and David Platzker of Printed Matter,
Editions / Artists' Books will take place at two locations: Brooke Alexander
Editions at 59 Wooster Street and Deitch Projects at 76 Grand Street.
The preview on Thursday, November 1, 5-9 pm, is being organized as a
benefit for Printed Matter, Inc. an independent not-for-profit organization
founded to heighten the visibility of artists' publications and is the
world's largest distributor of artists' books, magazines, audio and
video works. The Fair is also a part of a citywide "Print Week",
organized by the International Fine Print Dealers Association, to promote
the medium of prints through exhibitions and symposia held throughout
the week.
